Gottfriedsen Mountain wildfire Evacuation Alert rescinded

Property owners in the vicinity of the Gottfriedsen Mountain wildfire can start unpacking their go-bags, the Evacuation Alert has been rescinded.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Emergency Operations Centre has announced the fire no longer poses an imminent risk of danger to life and properties in the area.

As a result, the Evacuation Alert issued on August 9 at 8 p.m. has been rescinded and the area is deemed "all clear."

Properties, camping areas and other areas of residence north of Highway 97C — including Pennask Lake (western boundary, Mellin Lake (northern boundary), Barton Lake (north-eastern boundary) and Eileen Lake (south-eastern boundary) — are also included in the rescission.
