For the second year in a row, B.C. residents are in the midst of a difficult wildfire situation.

A provincial state of emergency has been declared as wildfires have prompted 29 evacuation orders, affecting around 3,050 people, as well as 48 evacuation alerts that have 18,720 people across the province ready to leave their homes at a moment’s notice.

There are currently over 560 active wildfires in B.C., and the BC Wildfire Service says they can almost guarantee there are more that have gone undetected due to thick smoke.

The wildfire situation has been an ordeal for many British Columbians as they wait to finally be able to return to their homes.

People all across the province have been able to capture the severity of the situation in these breathtaking photos.
