The Pike Mountain wildfire, that sparked late Monday afternoon near Princeton, B.C., has "seen a little bit of growth throughout the day," explained Marla Catherall, Fire Information Officer with Kamloops Fire Centre.

The B.C. Wildfire Service measured the wildfire Tuesday morning at approximately seven-hectares, but the fire has now more than doubled to 16-hectares.

The B.C. Wildfire Service responded to the rapidly growing blaze with 46 personnel, three helicopters and air tankers.

The fire is suspected to be human-caused, but B.C. Wildfire Service has their Fire Origin and Cause personnel on site to determine how the fire was ignited.

NowMedia will provide more information as it becomes available.
