BC Wildfire Service personnel are heading to a fire just off Hwy 97.

The small fire is about 10 kilometres south of Vernon.

Fire information officer Madison Smith said BCWS’s response is in its earliest stages and details are currently not available.

But a NowMedia reader said there were “lots of crew” attacking the flames.

Traffic was also being affected, the reader explained, with the highway down to a single lane.

This story will be updated once more information is available.
