During this uncertain time, it is paramount that as a community we stick together and help each other through thick and thin.

Using the #kelownastrong on our social platforms, we are bringing you stories and initiatives that radiate positivity in our community.

Free support/ check-in calls for all parents

Springfield Kids Play therapy is offering support/ check-in calls for all parents of children age 3-12 years old.

During this time you may feel overwhelmed, scared or feeling the need that you are needing to rant.

The support calls will allow you to discuss anything on your mind and how to relay this information to your kids.

Springfield knows this is a difficult time for parents as almost all children are greatly affected by not being in school or care.

Since finances are uncertain at this time, many parents normally wouldn't be able to afford this kind of support, now thanks to Springfield Kids Play Therapy you can receive this support for free.

Schedule your call here, please include your phone number and a preferred time.

You can also fill out the form here.

If you are able, you can donate to their charity partner, Childhood Connections, for a tax receipt here.

This will build up the play therapy subsidy fund for when we can start helping children face-to-face again.

Local Photographer offering a family photoshoots by donation

A local photographer photosbypalamikayla is offering front porch sessions photoshoots by donation in Kelowna.

On Sunday, March 29th and Monday, March 30th Pala will be providing a photoshoot for you, your family, and even your four-legged friends.

The photoshoot is by donation so simple pay what you can $10, $50, an unused gift card, it doesn't matter.

Pala will take the photos while being socially distant from the sidewalk, or she can even take a photo through the window if that is preferred.

Call your neighbours and encourage them to also participate in their own photoshoot.

To book your porch session send a direct message to Pala on Instagram here.

Gift Certificates for the front line workers

Urban Elegance Homes is extending a charitable contribution to the people in our community who work in the frontline.

They are choosing to donate gift certificates from Jacks and Salt & Brick, as they have pledged 25% of all sales to be purely in support of their staff.

We are hoping to contribute in a meaningful and small way by supporting all the heroes on the front line.
