The launch of the car-carrying, Falcon Heavy rocket, takes place today at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk has his Tesla Roadster catching a ride to space - thanks to the massive rocket.
At 10:30 a.m., the Falcon Heavy will launch and separate two side boosters that will land for future use. The journey will continue in order to send the Tesla into orbit.
After the two side boosters separate from the centre and return to landing sites, the center core will also eventually land in the Atlantic Ocean on a drone ship for reuse.
The first test flight of Falcon Heavy is targeted for Tuesday, Feb. 6th at 1:30 PM ET from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. When Falcon Heavy lifts off, it will be the most powerful operational rocket in the world by a factor of two. https://t.co/jzv975xKB0 pic.twitter.com/yAVGdXJjEs
