The Western Hockey League announced today that Kelowna Rockets goaltender, Michael Herringer, has been named the WHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending March 26, 2017.

That also makes him the league nominee for Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week.

In two games last week, the 21-year-old Herringer went 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average, .960 save percentage and one shutout.

He was a big factor in the Kelowna Rockets jumping out to a 2-0 lead over the Kamloops Blazers in their best-of-seven first-round playoff series.

On Friday, March 24, Herringer was perfect, steering aside 15 shots sent his way in a 4-0 victory versus Kamloops.

On Saturday, March 25, Herringer stood on his head, this time making 33 saves on 35 shots in a 3-2 win versus Kamloops, earning first-star honours for his efforts.

This is third Goaltender of the Week honour, with the first two coming for the weeks ending October 23, 2016, and March 5, 2017.
