Kelowna Rockets GM Bruce Hamilton has been named to the management group of Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence.

Hamilton will manage the under-18 program, which includes the 2017 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

He’ll work in conjunction with Hockey Canada’s vice-president of hockey operations, Scott Salmond, director of player personnel, Ryan Jankowski, and senior manager of hockey operations, Shawn Bullock.

Along with Hamilton, Hockey Canada has also named Steve Staios and Joël Bouchard to the Program of Excellence.

Staios will look after the U-17 program, while Bouchard continues at the helm of the Canadian National Junior Team, which represents the country at the World Junior Championships.

“All three men have proven leadership qualities and experience within their respective leagues, as well as on the international stage,” said Salmond. “Their skill, knowledge and dedication to excellence will lead us through the year as we look to continue Canada's tradition of excellence on the ice, and further develop skilled, committed players through our program.”

Hamilton has been involved in the Program of Excellence since 2013 and was part of the National Junior Team’s management group for the 2014 and 2015 tournaments.

You can find more information on the Program of Excellence on Hockey Canada’s website.
