Andy Woods lacrosse tournament in Rutland Saturday

The Andy Woods Memorial Tournament kicked off Friday night and is happening in Rutland on Saturday and Sunday. The first game started at 9:45 a.m. at the Rutland Arena.

One of the first games of the tournament was an A division game between Ridge Meadwos Burrards and the North Okanagan Legends.

The Annual Andy Woods Memorial Tournament and it's being put on by Kelowna Minor Lacrosse, along with many volunteers.

"I grew up playing lacrosse in Kelowna," said Mike Phillips, a coach at the tournament.

Now Phillips is back as a coach and with four teams in the division, he's hoping to get more players interested in the sport.
