The Spokane Chiefs appear to have the Kelowna Rockets' number this year. In the three times the teams have met this season, the Chiefs have come out on top in overtime, including a 5-4 win over the Rockets on Friday.
Despite taking the OT loss, the Rockets had a pretty decent showing, outshooting the Chiefs 49-21.
By the 1:30 mark of the second period, the Chiefs already had a 3-0 lead, and Michael Herringer was replaced with Brodan Salmond in net.
Soon after the Chiefs third goal, Nick Merkley gave his team some life with a nifty wraparound goal.

Nolan Foote added his 15th goal of the season late in the second period to bring the Rockets within one.
Arguably the best player on the ice, Calvin Thurkauf added the Rockets' third and fourth goals, but the Chiefs snuck one in between those two, leaving regulation time with a deadlock.
The Rockets started the OT period on the power play and they brought the heat, but just couldn't find the net. Almost immediately after the Chiefs' penalty ran out, and the Rockets on the ice were exhausted, Kailer Yamamoto put the Chiefs' game winning goal past Salmond.
The Rockets' power play was weak, and they only capitalized on one of their six power plays throughout the game.
Next up, the Rockets face the B.C. division's top team, the Prince George Cougars, at Prospera Place on Saturday, February 18th.
