A big night for Roman Basran getting his first career WHL start and he makes big on it with a 4-0 shutout win over the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Basran turned away 38 shots to book his first career shutout. His only other ice time in the WHL was against the Vancouver Giants where he took over for James Porter for the last two periods in the 6-1 loss to the Giants.

The crowd was definitely impressed with the 16-year-old goaltender, who hails from Delta B.C.

Even the Mayor of Kelowna, who bears the same name, gave him a shoutout.

Dillon Dube was also on fire in the game, scoring once and adding one assist.  Dube was dangerous on his five shots on net and he won 13 of his 22 face-offs.

Also scoring for the Rockets was Carsen Twarynski with his 15th, and Liam Kindree with his 4th and tough and steady blue-liner, James Hilsendager with his 4th.

Kelowna enjoyed multi-point evenings from Carsen Twarynski(1G, 2A), Dillon Dube(1G,1A), Liam Kindree(1G, 1A), and Kaedan Korczak(2A).

The Rockets record improves to 14-8-2-1.

For the record two Basrans made their Propsera Place debuts as our mayor states in another tweet, he did have have one of his offspring on the ice, a future star for sure.

Kelowna's next opponent comes on Wednesday when their divisional rival the Prince George Cougars visit Prospera Place for another Hat-Trick Wednesday. Purchase your ticket before 2 p.m. on Wednesday and for $19.99 you get the sweet deal of a hot dog, a pop, and a ticket to the game.

Tickets are available for Rockets home games through selectyourtickets.com, at the Prospera Place box office or by phone at 250-762-5050.
