The Foote family is going to have to build a bigger trophy case.
Cal Foote added some more hardware to the collection on Wednesday, as he was named the WHL’s Defenceman of the Year for the league’s Western Conference.
General Managers will now vote between Foote and the Eastern Conference winner, Kale Clague, to pick a league wide winner.

Foote was also named a 1st team All-Star for the Western Conference, while teammate Dillon Dube got the nod as a 2nd team All-Star.
After being drafted 14th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning last summer, Foote had another spectacular year as captain of the Kelowna Rockets.
The 19-year-old put up 19 goals and added an impressive 51 assists for the second season in a row, giving him 70 points on the season.
That was good enough for third among Western Conference defencemen, with a few less games played than either player who finished ahead of him.
Foote also posted a +31 rating while leading the Rockets to their seventh B.C. Division title in team history.
It’s been quite the week for Foote, who already took home Defenceman of the Year and MVP honours at the Rockets awards ceremony on Sunday.
He’ll lead his teammates into battle against the Tri-City Americans on Thursday night as the WHL playoffs get going at Prospera Place.
