There’s a good chance Pavel Novak will hear his name called at the 2020 NHL entry draft.

On Wednesday, the NHL Central Scouting Bureau unveiled its final rankings for this summer’s draft and Novak is listed as the 85th-ranked North American skater.

That projects the Kelowna Rockets’ forward as a third- or fourth-round pick.

After being selected by the Rockets in last year’s CHL Import Draft, Novak exploded onto the WHL scene as a 17-year-old rookie this past season.

He led the team with 58 points (25 goals and 33 assists) in just 55 games, providing plenty of electric moments for the crowd at Prospera Place before the season was cut short in March.

He’ll be a major piece for the Rockets next year, providing that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has cleared up enough for the season to start in the fall.
