A pair of Kelowna Rockets forwards will be strapping up the skates next week.

Pavel Novak and Jonas Peterak were among 32 players invited to the Czech Republic’s U20 summer training camp.

It’ll take place in Rokycany, Czech Republic from June 14-19 and it’s the first step in determining who will play for the country at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship in Alberta.

Novak, 18, was the Rockets leading scorer this past season with 25 goals and 33 assists for 58 assists in just 55 games.

He became a key cog in the Rockets system after being selected 13th overall during the 2019 CHL import draft and is now expected to be selected in the NHL entry draft this summer.

Peterak, 19, was acquired from the Calgary Hitmen at the trade deadline and posted five goals and 10 assists for 15 points in his 23 games with Kelowna.
