To say the Kelowna Rockets are in tough this weekend would be an understatement.

The team is off to America to take on the Everett Silvertips in Friday before a pair of games against the Portland Winterhawks on the weekend.

Portland is the third best team in the CHL rankings (the top ranked WHL team), while Everett is eighth (third highest in the WHL).

Even with a full roster, it’d be a tough three-game stretch for the Rockets, but they’re taking on these two top-end WHL teams with a decimated roster.

Nolan Foote, Liam Kindree, Kyle Topping, Kaedan Korczak and Sean Comrie will all be out of the lineup all weekend, while Mark Liwiski, Trevor Wong and Roman Basran are also unlikely to play due to injuries.

As a result, the team has called up affiliated players Rilen Kovacevic, Dylan Wightman, Jarod Newell, Noah Dorey and Cole Tisdale.

The Rockets currently sit in third place in the BC Division, 12 points behind the Kamloops Blazers for top spot.
