Kelowna Rockets alumni, Nick Merkley, obtained his first point in the NHL on Friday night.

Now playing for the New Jersey Devils after being traded by the Arizona Coyotes in December, Merkley assisted fellow forward Joey Anderson in the Devils’ second goal against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Merkley made his NHL debut in December of 2017 with the Coyotes after being their 30th overall pick in the first-round of the 2015 draft.

The 22-year-old spent four seasons here in Kelowna.
