Both teams played each other in Kamloops Friday night and the Blazers cruised to a 9-3 victory.
With several older players not in the lineup, it was a chance for many young skaters to showcase their skills.
Owen Hayden, Nathan Cole and William Matte all skated in Rockets jerseys for the first time as Kamloops opened the scoring.
Kelowna got on the board in the second period when newcomer Levi Benson found the back of the net to cut the lead to 4-1.
After another Kamloops goal, Jacob Henderson managed his first score of the preseason, with Michael Cicek recording an assist.
Kamloops added four more goals before Cicek made it a 9-3 game halfway through the third period.
The Blazers outshot Kelowna 50-25 and the Rockets will have a chance to get their revenge on Saturday as both teams take to the ice at Prospera Place.
Puck drop is at 6:05 pm.
