Our Kelowna Rockets have signed their newest recruit!

Skating into the position of forward comes Pavel Novak of Tabor, Czech Republic.

Novak was originally drafted as the 13th overall pick at the 2019 CHL Import Draft back in June and his signing on with the WHL was announced earlier this afternoon by Rockets GM, Bruce Hamilton.

"We're very excited to have Pavel sign with us," said Hamilton.

"He had an excellent Hlinka Gretzky Cup. He's 17 years old, so he is heading into his draft year. I think that he is going to fit into our top nine, we’re excited for him to arrive here in Kelowna."

Novak may be young, but his impressive skills have garnered him quite the resume as he played 31 games with the Motor Ceske Budejovice U19 this last season where he accumulated 29 goals and 16 assists for an impressive 45 points.

At the aforementioned 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, Novak went into the tournament with three goals in two exhibition games against the Swiss U-18 team and collected two goals, one assist at the tournament, one of which was the fifth-place overtime game-winner.

Novak is expected to join his new teammates later this week.
