There were a few fans that took to Twitter on Tuesday night and asked why Noah Dorey wasn’t listed on the Kelowna Rockets roster or as a scratch for the club’s game against Prince George.

The reason for that was revealed through a team-issued statement late after the game.

Dorey has been released from the Rockets active roster after previously requesting a trade.

GM Bruce Hamilton said that all efforts were made to deal the 19-year-old before Tuesday’s 2 pm PT trade deadline, but they were unsuccessful.

“We are disappointed that we could not accommodate his request for a trade,” Hamilton noted.

Dorey will remain on the Rockets protected list.

The Surrey native played 116 games for Kelowna over the past five seasons, recording five goals and 27 assists during that time.
