The Victoria Royals got some revenge on the Kelowna Rockets on Tuesday.

After the Rockets knocked off the Royals 5-2 on Monday, the Royals came back with an impressive 6-2 victory on Tuesday.

It was far from the start that Kelowna wanted, as Logan Doust’s fifth goal of the season opened the scoring just 44 seconds into the game.

Kaid Oliver would add a pair of goals before the first period was over, putting Victoria up 3-0.

By the midway mark of the second, it was 5-0 Royals as Phillip Schultz and Tarun Fizer both found the back of the net to extend the lead.

Leif Mattson would finally get the Rockets on the board, scoring his 20th of the season, and Nolan Foote would add another to make it 5-2 through 40 minutes.

That’s as close as Kelowna would come, however, as Kody Mcdonald scored the only goal of the third period for Victoria, securing a 6-2 win for the boys from the island.

Griffen Outhouse made 34 saves to secure the victory, while Rockets starter Roman Basran was pulled just 4:31 into the game.

James Porter made 32 saves on 36 shots in relief.

The Rockets are off to Spokane to take on the Chiefs Friday night before returning home to host the Kamloops Blazers on Saturday.
