After representing the Czech Republic at the 2021 World Junior Championships, Pavel Novak will continue his season at home.

The Kelowna Rockets have loaned the skilled forward to Motor Ceske Budejovice of the Czech Extraliga.

The Rockets didn’t say whether Novak is expected to return to Kelowna when the WHL regular season finally gets underway.

Novak started the 2020-21 season playing for HC Stadion Litomerice, a team in the Czech second league, registering four points in nine games.

Last season, Novak led the Rockets in scoring with 58 points in 55 games.

He was selected in the fifth round of the 2020 NHL entry draft by the Minnesota Wild.
