The Kelowna Rockets are moving on from the man who’s patrolled their crease for parts of the last four seasons.
The club announced today that goaltender Roman Basran has been released.
He went unclaimed on WHL waivers earlier this week and is now a free agent who’s eligible to join other leagues.

Nicknamed ‘The Mayor’ for sharing a last name with Kelowna mayor Colin Basran, the Vancouver native played 120 games over four seasons with the Rockets.
He accumulated a 52-41-7-4 record and posted a 2.90 goals against average and .905 save percentage, along with five shutouts.
Basran was originally selected by the Rockets in the third round, 64th overall, of the 2016 WHL bantam draft.
The move likely means that the team’s net belongs to Cole Schwebius this season, but there’s still a lot of time for potential roster moves before the fall.
