While it may be the preseason, the Kelowna Rockets made sure to still put on an entertaining show for their home crowd with a 4-3 win in overtime against the Kamloops Blazers on Saturday.

The Rockets will now have the week off before hosting the Vancouver Giants at home next Saturday.

Kelowna got the scoring started early in the first period when Michael Cicek capitalized on a power play.

A little more than a minute later, 16-year-old Owen Folstrom added to Kelowna’s tally to make it a 2-0 game.

After giving up a goal late in the first period, Kelowna restored its two-goal lead in the second period when Luke Schelter scored.

The Blazers then managed to cut the lead to 3-2, a score that would hold until the final minute of the game.

With 17 seconds left on the clock and a pulled goalie, Kamloops tied the game to force overtime at Prospera Place.

The game did not need that much extra time as Kanjyu Gojsic found the back of the net two minutes into the extra frame.

Jake Pilon stopped 28 of the 31 shots he faced in net for Kelowna as the Rockets outshot Kamloops 38-31.

Two dollars from each preseason ticket sold will be donated to Cops for Kids.
