Dawson Gerwing opened the scoring for the Rockets in the first period on a power play and things were looking bright for the visiting team.

However, the Rockets' lead only lasted for a couple of minutes before giving up a power play score to the Rebels – beginning a spree of Red Deer goals as the home team managed two more goals before the end of the period.

The Rebels momentum carried them into the second period and Red Deer continued to score, finding the back of the net four times in the middle frame.

By the time the damage was complete, the Rockets were down 10-1 halfway through the third period.

Kelowna did manage to get back on the scoreboard after Andrew Petruk scored his first goal as a Rocket late in the third frame.

The Rockets are back in action today as they face the Calgary Hitmen for a Sunday afternoon game.
