Herringer Shuts Out the Giants in Rockets 4-0 Win

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Vancouver Giants 4-0 in Michael Herringer's second career WHL shutout, both of the them against the Giants. The first one on November 8th at Prospera Place and this one in Vancouver's Pacific Coliseum. Herringer made 29 saves for the win and improved the Rockets record to 48-10-3-1 on the season.


Gage Quinney had a big night as well with a goal and two assists, he was named the game's first star.

Leon Draisaitl opened the scoring in the first with his 13th of the season. Dillon Dube and Quinney scored in the second and Rodney Southam with his 9th in the third.


The Rockets are now 5-0-0-0 in the season series against the Giants with three games to go between them. 


Jackson Whistle was dressed for the first time since being sidelined on February 6th for appendix surgery.

The win makes it 100 points for the Rockets and that makes it three consecutive seasons at 100 or more, last season the team hit a franchise record 118 points. Before that you have to go way back to the 2004-2005 and 2002-2003 for 100 plus point records. 
 

Kelowna will return to home ice on Saturday when the Calgary Hitmen come to Prospera Place for a 7 p.m. start.
