A new youth volleyball club has been launched in Kelowna with the hopes of teaching youth the value of hard work and determination.

Called T2 Volleyball, the new club is looking for community support through sponsorship to help cover the cost of fees for events such as the National Championships. Tammy Thomas is the head coach and CEO of the program and has launched a Go Fund Me campaign to help raise money from companies and individuals in Kelowna and area.

“Every time we start new programs we always try and offer ways for families/players to fundraise and in doing so, we help them raise quite a bit of money to help offset costs and fees,” said Thomas. “There are many costs we have this season, but the main one that we are asking sponsors to help us out with are National Championships fees. Nationals is a huge event that will host over 90 plus teams in more than six different divisions and is a great experience for players training at the highest level in our program.”

The team plans to travel all over BC and possibly Western Canada if they can generate enough funds to send the youth. The goal for this season is to generate up to $8,000 if possible, which will allow families with financial barriers to have their children participate in the volleyball club.
