The Kelowna Sr. Raiders got their revenge on Saturday, defeating the host Armstrong Shamrocks 9-8 at the Nor-Val Arena.

In their previous meeting, the Shamrocks handily defeated the Raiders, but that was not to be the case again thanks to a great team effort and terrific goaltending.

The Raiders were trailing late in the game, but Victor Wiens completed the comeback by scoring a breakaway goal with less than 30 seconds left to play, securing the victory for the Raiders who improved to 2-2 this season.

Wiens, Joe Brown, Jacob Illichmann and Brandon Urban each scored twice and Nick Evans added another in the winning effort.

Goaltender Graham Cousins made 42 saves for the victory.

Andrew Schwab scored twice and Carston Schlaak, Kyle Versteeg, Steven Clark, Bayne Bosquet, Rob Rintoul and Kas Boudreau scored for the Shamrocks in their first loss this season. The Shamrocks currently sit in first place in the TOSLL with a 3-1 record.

The two teams will meet again on June 13 in Armstrong.
