It was a fantastic Wednesday evening at the Elks Stadium, as the Kelowna Falcons defeated the Wenatchee Applesox 12-8 and player Justin Flores set a Kelowna Falcons single-season record.

Grounding out in the 1st inning, Flores set the record right from the start. Later he would add a 2-run homerun and an RBI double to finish 2-3 with four RBIs.

Kelowna was found trailing behind after two innings, giving the Applesox a bit of a jump ahead with a 2-1 lead.

However, they were no match for the Falcons, as the team extended the score to a 5-2 lead in the 5th, thanks to Joey Crunkilton’s major hit with Flores aboard.

Wenatchee brought the score back up to a 5-3 lead, but a string of amazing plays would land the Falcons their victory. Flores hit his RBI double, Vinny Esposito hit a 3-run homer, while Lane Lacrone slammed an RBI triple and Grant Meylan drove in a run when Kelowna had 11 men on the plate.

Dalton Blackwell shut down any last attempts at a victory for  Wenatchee, bringing the Falcons to their 12-8 win.

The Falcons will take on the Applesox again Thursday evening, with first pitch at 6:35 p.m. The first 150 fans will get an autographed Falcons baseball.
