The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to snap the longest winning streak in professional sports with more key additions at the MLB non-waiver trade deadline on Friday.

The Blue Jays have not made the playoffs since winning the World Series in 1993. They traded for two more players after having acquired two all-stars earlier in the week.

The Blue Jays began Friday by acquiring 32-year-old right-handed relief pitcher Mark Lowe from the Seattle Mariners. In exchange, the Mariners received left-handed pitchers Nick Wells, Jacob Brentz, and Rob Rasmussen.

Lowe has a 1.00 ERA with 37 strikeouts and 11 walks in 36 innings this season. He will become an unrestricted free agent after the season.

The Blue Jays then traded for speedy outfielder Ben Revere from the Philadelphia Phillies. The Jays sent right-handed pitchers Jimmy Cordero and Alberto Tirado to the Phillies.

Revere has a .298 batting average with 24 stolen bases this season. It is expected that 27-year-old Revere will replace the speed lost when Jose Reyes was traded.

Reyes was dealt earlier this week, along with highly-touted pitching prospects Jeff Hoffman and Miguel Castro to the Colorado Rockies in exchange for all-star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and reliever LaTroy Hawkins.

The Jays also acquired ace pitcher David Price from the Detroit Tigers on Thursday. Prospects Daniel Norris, Matt Boyd, and Jairo Labourt went to the Tigers in the deal.

The Blue Jays also traded left-handed pitcher Felix Doubront to the Oakland Athletics in exchange for cash considerations.

The Blue Jays currently sit in third place in the American League East with a 52-51 record. They are six games back of the New York Yankees for the division lead and two games back of the Minnesota Twins for the last wild card spot.
