The Kelowna Falcons just keep going up, hitting the 30-win mark for the first time in franchise history on Sunday.
The Falcons had already beat their franchise record on Saturday with their 29th win of the season, but Sunday’s victory pushed them up to the big 30 against the Bellingham Bells. Kelowna hit the scoreboard first in the third inning when an RBI single from Hunter Villanueva scored Grant Meylan.

They continued the heat in the fifth to make it 2-0 as Matt Hearn picked up a two-out single that brought in Kyle Plantier. Michael Koval pitched five shutout innings for Kelowna, as he allowed just two hits and struck out three.
The Falcons lengthened their lead to 3-0 at the top of the seventh as Ben Gamba hit a Sac Fly to score Plantier. Jared Morton worked a scoreless sixth, but the Bells finally got on the board 3-1 in the seventh inning off Matthew Kirk.

Though Bellingham loaded the bases in the ninth off Kendall Motes, Alex Webb came on with two outs. He threw three fastballs that were 90 MPH+, effectively ending the ballgame.
The Falcons are now heading home to Kelowna to face the Corvallis Knights from Tuesday to Thursday for the final home series. You can get your tickets online to cheer the Kelowna Falcons into the playoffs.
