While most of the big guns were silenced, Ryan Goins made more than enough noise to lift the Toronto Blue Jays to a 5-3 win over the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday at the Rogers Centre.

The No. 9 batter in the usually potent Jays lineup hit a walk-off two-run homer in the 10th inning as the Jays remained 1 1/2 games up on the New York Yankees atop the American League East standings. The Yanks kept pace by defeating the Boston Red Sox 3-1 in Boston.

Goins' fifth homer of the year ended up in the second deck in right field and made a loser of Cleveland reliever Bryan Shaw.

The dramatic win came one inning after rookie closer Roberto Osuna failed to save a game for only the second time in 18 attempts this season.

Marco Estrada earned the win on the mound for the Blue Jays, pitching seven innings and allowing two earned runs on just five Indians hits.

Meanwhile, the Jays’ Edwin Encarnacion had his 26-game hitting streak come to an end, going 0-for-2 at the plate. He came close to continuing the streak in the sixth inning, but Cleveland’s Francisco Lindor spoiled his bid with a diving play on a sharp liner to short.

Cleveland outhit the Jays 9-6, with Goins getting two of the Toronto hits.

The Blue Jays and Indians are back on the field on Wednesday at the Rogers Centre (4:07 p.m.). Knuckleballer R.A. Dickie will be on the mound for the Blue Jays and Trevor Bauer will pitch for the Tribe.
