Sweetheart Ringette Tournament Attracts Nearly 1,300 Players

The 26th annual Kelowna Sweetheart Tournament got under way at eight locations in the Central Okanagan on Friday.

Nearly 1,300 players on 85 teams in 10 divisions — from U9 to 18+ open — representing B.C. and Alberta are taking part in the Kelowna Ringette Association event that will utilize eight sheets of ice from West Kelowna to Winfield.

Games began early on Friday and will go on until late into the night. Play resumes on Saturday, with playoffs and championships games scheduled for Sunday.

The annual Ringette Night In The Okanagan is set for Saturday beginning at 6:15 p.m. at Royal LePage Place.
