Jonathan Desbiens scored his 38th and 39th goals of the season and Garrett Forster added a pair of markers as the West Kelowna Warriors defeated the Trail Smoke Eaters 4-1 in B.C. Hockey League action on Saturday.

The win was the Warriors’ fifth straight win during their current six-game road schedule that will end on Feb. 12 with the West Kelowna representatives playing in Penticton. The Warriors return home at Royal LePage Place on Feb. 13 when they play host to the Langley Rivermen (7 p.m.).

Following up on a 9-0 victory over the Smokies in Trail on Friday, the Warriors jumped to a 2-0 lead on a pair of powerplay tallies by Forster just 5:30 apart in the first period.

Desbiens, on the verge of becoming only the second player in Warriors’ history to score 40 goals in a season (Trevor Bailey had 41 in the 2009-10 season), made it 3-0 early in the second period, while the Montreal native closed out the scoring with seven minutes remaining in the game.

Keelan Williams made 24 saves to record the netminding win for West Kelowna.
