Outstanding goaltending by Graham Cousins and intense ball control by his defence led to a 12-5 Kelowna Raiders victory over the visiting Kamloops Rattlers in Thompson Okanagan Senior Lacrosse League play on Sunday.

Vic Wiens scored three times and assisted on a pair of goals as the Raiders grabbed a 1-0 lead in their best-of-three semifinal series at Kelowna Memorial Arena. Taylor Trotter and Pho Heng added two goals apiece for the winners while singles came from Joe Brown, Evan Helgesen, Jared MacLennan, Nick Evans and Jacob Illichmann.

AJ Lockwood and Nate Woldum led the Rattlers with two goals apiece.

The Raiders will try to wrap up the series on Tuesday in Kamloops. A third game, if necessary, would be played on Thursday in Kelowna beginning at 8 p.m.

The winner of the series will meet the Armstrong Shamrocks for the TOSLL championship.
