Gold-medal winners last spring at the Westerns in Richmond, the Heat are preparing for repeat performance by playing regular-season games in the Thompson Okanagan Ringette League and taking part in high-profile tournaments during the next few months.

The Heat are registered to play in the Bow View tournament in Calgary later in November, in a tournament in Richmond in January and at the 27th annual Sweetheart Tournament in Kelowna in February.

Jordyn Cates, Keely Horning, Taylor Pilon, Stephanie Russo, Samantha Weigel and Kiana Wong have returned to the Kelowna Ringette Association team in hopes of another Western Canada gold.

First however, the Heat will have to win the U19A B.C. title in Surrey in March.

Other members of the 2016-17 team, coached by Dan Pilon and Laurie Horning and managed by Lynn Russo, are Makaila Bowes, Kailey Fisher, Stephanie Hamilton, Maia Johnston, Amanda Rizzo and Zach Wynn.
