Kelowna’s U16B Adrenaline ringette team is coming home from the Lower Mainland with a championship banner.

The girls were in Richmond for the 22nd Annual West Coast Classic Ringette tournament from January 6th through January 8th.

The Adrenaline didn’t kick off the tournament the way they wanted to, with a 5-1 loss to Westside, but it was all uphill from there.

They won their last two round-robin games 2-1 over Delta and 6-4 over Surrey, which gave them a rematch against Surrey in the semi-finals.

The semi-finals were an exciting back and forth game with Kelowna coming out on top 2-1, giving them a rematch against Westside in the finals.

It was another exciting, hard fought, nailbiter, but Kelowna came out on top this time by a score of 3-1, taking home the gold.

“You could see the progression in improved play as each game was played leading up to the final game,” said head coach, Michelle Ryan. “It really was a team effort and having the focus to win.

Kelowna’s U19 and U14 teams were also in Richmond for the tournament, but both teams lost in the semis of their age group.
