Fresh back from the Vegas Acro Cup in Las Vegas Nevada, two Okanagan Gymnastics Centre Acro Teams headed south of the border again to the California State Championship along with their coach, Shawna De Leske.

The competition was held just outside of San Francisco. Teams consisted of Jackson Peters and Jacob Wong in the Junior Olympic Level 10 Men's Pair, and Ava Clark and Sara Ross in the Junior Olympic Level 8 Women's Pair.

Both teams showed extremely well over the two-day event with some of the toughest competition around. Each team scored very well and all came home with well-earned gold medals.

"We came home from Vegas and I looked at the scores and strategized how to improve our artistry which should increase our scores," said Shawna De Leske, head coach of the Okanagan Gymnastics Centre Acro Team.

"We disassembled each of the four routines and made some tweaks and it worked out very nicely. The scores reflected the hard work the athletes and coaches put into their routines to which each of us is very proud," said De Leske.
