Kaetlyn Osmond just claimed Canada's first female World title since 1973.
She earned the world title yesterday at the ISU Worlds in Milan, Italy.
"I just realized yesterday was not a dream!" tweeted Osmond, earlier today.
She was also quick to thank her choreographers, Lance Vipond and Jeffrey Buttle, for creating the two programs that "will always have a place in my heart," she said. And she gave a heartwarming shout out to her coach, Ravi Walia, for "coaching me through everything!"

Buttle choreographed Osmond's 'swan' performrance. "It's a story of fully embracing ALL that she is: beauty AND athleticism," tweeted Buttle.

Lastly, she thanked everyone else.
Osmond took the top spot by a long shot, with a 12-point lead. Japan took second and third place with Wakaba Higuchi in second and Satoko Miyahara in third.

Besides being a world champion, Osmond is also a three-time National Champion, a World silver medalist and earned a bronze at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
She's the sixth Canadian woman to ever win a medal in the ladies singles competition at the Olympics.

The 22-year-old was born in Marystown, Newfoundland but now lives in Sherwood Park, Alberta.
During Osmond's victory lap with the flag, she took a tumble and tripped over the carpet, but it didn't seem to take away from her victory. She playfully laughed it off, got up and continued enjoying her moment.
Prior to Osmond, Karen Magnussen, was the last woman to claim gold for Canada in 1973.
