The UBCO Heat men's basketball team took on Trinity Western on Friday and despite a thrilling win, the focus was on more than just the team.

With his 20 point performance on the evening, Aldrich Berrios would pass Mitch Goodwin for the most points ever recorded by a Heat player. Berrios now has 1,204 points in his UBCO career.

The marksman would find his shot in the second half, including a crowd-silencer with just under a minute to go that put the Heat up five.

The Heat would hold a 74-69 lead late in the fourth quarter following this Berrios triple, but four straight Spartan points made it 74-73 with 15 seconds to play. After a made free throw from the Heat's Hafith Moalin,  the Spartans had one last chance up the court, but a missed jumper from TWU's Josiah Allison at the buzzer dashed the Spartans comeback efforts.

These two teams will be back on the court tonight at the Langley Events Center, with tip-off slated for 7 p.m.
