With only 12 shots on goal, the Vancouver Canucks managed to sneak away with a 2-1 win against the Nashville Predators on Friday.

The Canucks now have a 2-1 series lead going into Sunday’s game four.

JT Miller and Brock Boeser scored their first goals of the playoffs while Casey DeSmith stopped 29 of the 30 shots he faced in the net.

Another Canadian team that saw success on Friday and took a 2-1 series lead was the Edmonton Oilers.

The Oilers started strong with three goals in the first period and never looked back en route to a 6-1 victory.

Zach Hyman recorded his sixth goal of the playoffs in the win, the same amount the entire Leafs lineup has mustered in their series against the Boston Bruins.

The Winnipeg Jets fell 6-2 against the Colorado Avalanche and now trail in their series 2-1.

The New York Rangers were also in action on Friday and defeated the Washington Capitals to take a 3-0 series lead.

Puck drop for the Leafs is at 5 pm PDT on Saturday.
