(Update 11:30 a.m.) - According to the Hamilton Police, a completed autopsy by the coroner's office has confirmed Ray Emery's cause of death was drowning.
The body of Emery was located in the Hamilton Harbour on Sunday afternoon after he had never emerged from diving into Lake Ontario that morning.
The Hamilton Police now say they are concluding their investigation as non-criminal.
(Original Story) - Former NHL goaltender and Stanley Cup champion Ray Emery has died.
According to Hamilton Police, Emery never emerged after diving into the water near a friend’s boat early Sunday morning at Hamilton Harbour in Lake Ontario.
At 2:50 pm, HPS recovered the body of former @NHL player Ray Emery, 35. Emery was reported missing just after 6:00 am in #HamOnt harbour. His body was recovered in close proximity to where he was last seen. Family has been notified. Cause of death to be confirmed pending a PM.

Insp. Marty Schulenberg said Emery's death does not appear to be suspicious, calling it a "case of misadventure."
After being drafted in the fourth round in the 2001 NHL Draft, Emery, 35, played for the Ottawa Senators, Philadelphia Flyers, Anaheim Ducks and won the Stanely Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013.
Several members of the NHL community, including former teammates, coaches and executives who played and worked with Emery expressed their condolences for the Hamilton native.
