Meant to fine-tune athletes’ routines as they prepare for the upcoming competitive season, another successful Cobweb Invitational was hosted by the Okanagan Gymnastics Centre on the weekend

OGC members took home the all-around gold in 12 out of 14 categories.
The Interclub team showed its routines under the watchful eye of coaches Cori and Tami Calkins. The athletes perform their routines and earn either a bronze, silver or gold depending on their final scores.
In the Performance Plus category, Aida Hedstrom, Jodacy Schimmelmann, Midori Schimmelmann, Eliza Bell, Addison Locke, Milani Ritchie and Katherine Roth earned a gold medal overall. Olivia Lewis, Paige Eberle, Alana Waller all earned a silver medal overall.
In the Performance Challenge category, Ava Schraeder, Katjana Geismayr, Olivia Thompson, Nyah Hedstrom, Jordan Hilverda, Katie Flaten and Shyanne Stewart all earned a gold medal overall.
Oliva Pilato, Hailey Johnson, and Emily Johnston earned a silver medal overall.
In the Junior Olympic Program, the Level 2 athletes compete in the same format where their scores earn them a bronze, silver or gold. This team of young girls is coached by Sandra Polley and Brooke Murray.
Brielle Leach earned a gold medal overall, Madison Parnell, Ruby Hazard, Leila Turner and Peyton Anderson earned a silver medal overall, while Sophia Pauluzzi earned a bronze medal overall.
In the Junior Olympic Program, Level 3 and up, the athletes are ranked and awarded medals and ribbons based on their scores.
Lexi Crawford won the all-around gold i the Level 3 category by earning gold on vault and uneven bars and silver on the balance beam and floor exercise. Makena Ivanitz finished second overall after winning the balance beam and floor exercise, and earning second place on the vault.
The Level 4 junior category saw Talia Westwood finish in the top spot with a final score of 37.05. She brought home first place on floor exercise and second place on vault, bars, and balance beam.
Rae Roworth finished second overall with a silver medal on the floor and bronze medals on vault and balance beam. Hartley Jones earned gold medals on the uneven bars and balance beam. Ava Roth finished with a bronze medal on the floor exercise.
In the Level 4 senior category, Summer Houston took the top spot earning first place on vault and floor exercise and second place on uneven bars and balance beam. Peyton Johal finished with bronze medals on vault, bars, floor and all around.
The all-around leader in Level 5 was Izabelle Coetzee who finished first on floor, second on bars and third on beam. Tara Dunn finished with a silver medal overall after finishing second on the floor exercise. Taylor Morrison earned third overall after finishing second on vault an balance beam. Shiphra Penner finished with a gold on the balance beam in her very first competitive gymnastics competition.
In the Level 6 Junior category, Veronika Yacovelli finished first overall after winning the bars and balance beam. She took a silver medal on the vault and floor exercise.
Kate Levinsen finished with the gold medal overall in the Level 6 senior category. She finished with first place on vault and bars and a second place on floor.
In the Level 7 category, Sydney Ortynski finished first on the uneven bars and third place on the floor exercise which earned her a spot on the Zone 2 BC Winter Games team that will travel to Kamloops in February. Iulia Tarasenco finished with a silver medal on the beam and is the first alternate to the BC Winter Games Team.
For Level 8, Taylor Bowden finished with two silver medals on the balance beam and floor exercise. Danica Graves tied for the silver medal on the balance beam.
In the Level 9, 10, Novice, Junior, Aspire 1 & 2 categories, Okanagan Gymnastics Centre was the only club to have any athletes represented, but these athletes all worked hard to show their best performances as they prepare for their upcoming competition season. These athletes will all try out for Elite Canada, Western Canadian Championships and Canadian Championships later in the season.
Olive Fenske competed in her first Aspire 1 competition. Her highest achievement was a 9.175 on the vault.
Miah Denis and Natalia Simeunovic competed in the Aspire 2 category where Denis took the top spot with gold on vault, bars, beam and all around, while Simeunovic finished first place on floor.
In the Level 9 category, Sammi Pelletier finished with first overall after winning the vault, beam and floor. Sophie Tesar and Veronica Tarasenco tied for first place on the uneven bars. Tesar finished second on vault, beam and floor.
In Level 10, Gabi Beselt finished with the gold medal overall after winning first place on bars and beam. Jenna Mick finished second place overall after winning the floor exercise and Vanessa Bulcock finished third overall after winning the vault.
Amanda Jaggard and Kyleigh Crawford competed in the Novice category. Jaggard finished with first place on bars, beam and all around, while Crawford finished with gold on vault and floor.
Kamryn Greenhalgh represented in the Junior category with her best performance on the vault with a 13.225.
