After a heartbreaking loss in game four earlier in the week, the Canucks stepped up their game and took game five at home against the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday.
With the game tied at two goals apiece, JT Miller scored with 33 seconds left in the match to take the 3-2 win.

The Oilers got the scoring started early in the first period when Evander Kane buried his third goal of the postseason.
Edmonton held on to their lead late in the period until Carson Soucy sent a wrist shot flying to even the score.

Before the fans could finish cheering, Mattias Janmark restored Edmonton’s lead heading into the second period.
Five minutes into the middle frame, Phillip Di Giuseppe tied the game with a backhand shot.
With the clock winding down in the third period and it looking like overtime was going to be needed, JT Miller buried a rebound to put the Canucks up 3-2.

The Canucks held off the Oilers for the remaining 30 seconds in the match to take the 3-2 win and series lead.
Both teams are on their way to Edmonton for game six on Saturday. A win and the Canucks will face either the Colorado Avalanche or the Dallas Stars.
The other match to take place on Thursday saw the New York Rangers win their series against the Carolina Hurricanes.
