What a difference 48 hours can make.
On Saturday, Toronto Maple Leafs fans were in dire straits after their team was blown out by the Boston Bruins in game one of the playoffs.
Fast forward to Monday night and the parade plans are back on following a 3-2 win in game two that came on the back of a late winner from Auston Matthews, who added two assists as well.

The Leafs weren’t the only Canadian team to get a victory on Monday, as the Edmonton Oilers kicked off their 2024 postseason with a convincing win over the Los Angeles Kings.
Edmonton led 4-0 in the first and 6-2 in the third before settling for a 7-4 win in front of a hyped up crowd at Rogers Place.
Almost every fan that entered the building with a hat on Monday night left without it as Zach Hyman scored his first three goals of the playoffs, while Connor McDavid had five assists in the victory.

There were two other games Monday involving American teams, as the Carolina Hurricanes stormed back from a 3-0 deficit to shock the New York Islanders 5-3 in game two of that series.
The comeback included four goals in the third, with two of them coming in a nine-second span with around two minutes to play, which tied the game and gave the ‘Canes the lead.
Carolina now leads that series 2-0 as it shifts to UBS Arena for games three and four.

Finally, the Vegas Golden Knights secured a 4-3 road win over the Dallas Stars in game one of their first-round series, but the Stars actually outshot the Knights 29-15.
It was a game to forget for Dallas starting goalie Jake Oettinger, while Vegas captain celebrated his annual return to the lineup in game one of the playoffs with the series’ opening goal.
Looking at the schedule this evening, the big ticket for British Columbian hockey fans is game two between the Vancouver Canucks and Nashville Predators.

After coming back to take game one on Sunday, the Canucks will be looking to secure another win in front of the home fans before heading to Nashville for games three and four.
Tonight will also feature game two of three other series, as the Washington Capitals take on the New York Rangers, the Tampa Bay Lightning battle the Florida Panthers and the Colorado Avalanche face the Winnipeg Jets.
