After winning four bronze medals in the first two days of the Paralympics, the Canadians won four silver medals on days three and four of the games.

Saturday saw Aurélie Rivard and Brent Lakatos earn second place in their respective sports as Canada bumped its medal tally to eight podium finishes.

Of those eight podium finishes, two belong to Aurélie Rivard after she swam to second place in the women’s S10 100m freestyle event on Saturday.

Rivard now has 12 career Paralympic medals to her name.

The Canadian swimmer was not the only athlete to reach 12 career Paralympic medals on Saturday as Brent Lakatos accomplished the feat in para athletics.

The 44-year-old from Quebec snagged second place in the men's 400m T53 final.

‘’I’m always chasing the gold,’’ Lakatos told Canadian Paralympic Committee staff after his race.

‘’But I am happy. I did have a good race personally and that’s all you can do in the 400.’’

Lakatos will return to the track on Monday as he is set to compete in the 1500m race.

Monday will also see numerous other athletes back in action including sitting volleyball, wheelchair rugby, para triathlon and more.
