Professional bull riding is coming to Kelowna for the first time.

The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Canada’s elite Monster Energy Tour will swing through Prospera Place on July 7.

The fun gets going at 7 p.m., with each rider attempting one bull in Round 1 before the top 10 riders move onto the championship round.

Those 10 riders will then battle it out for the event title, earning them points towards both the Canadian national standings and the world points race.

Although touring pro-division events usually award the overall winner 60 points, this year’s Okanagan PBR Challenge will be worth 120 points.

Coming to Kelowna for this event will be some of Canada’s elite riders, as well as some of the league’s top international athletes.

These riders will square off against the rankest bucking bulls from all over North America.

“Fans will witness exhilarating eight-second rides and wrecks throughout the action-packed event as the PBR’s courageous riders face off against their 2,000-pound opponents,” boasts a written statement from the Monster Energy Tour.

Tickets ($40 to $70) for the one-day event go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday.

You can purchase them at the Prospera Place box office, online through Select Your Tickets or by phone at (250) 762-5050.
