Rockets defender enters IIHF quarter-finals with undefeated Team Canada

A Kelowna Rockets defenceman is heading into the 2019 IIHF U18 World Championship playoffs with an undefeated Team Canada this week.

Rockets defender Kaedan Korczak has played all four games with the 4-0 Team Canada squad, earning one assist during their tournament opener in a 5-3 win over Finland.

After their win against Finland, they continued onward to down Switzerland 7-4, obliterated Belarus 11-1 and finished the preliminary round with a 6-2 win over Czech Republic to finish atop Group A.

Korczak has been integral in Canada’s top defensive pairing throughout the tournament’s preliminary rounds, playing alongside Thomas Harley, Mississauga Steelheads defenceman.

The Canadians will face Latvia in the quarter-finals on Thursday (10:30 a.m. PT). which can be watched on TSN 1/5.
