The Kelowna Rockets were in action tonight, this time taking on the Victoria Royals at Prospera Place.

The game turned out to be a battle of net-minders as there were only two total goals scored. In the end, Roman Basran would pick up the shutout to help Kelowna take a 2-0 win.

The first period was all goaltenders, both Basran and Victoria's Griffen Outhouse stopped all shots they faced to keep it a tie game going into intermission.

In the second, the Rockets let loose and hammered 15 shots on Outhouse. The Royals goalie proved to be too strong as he kept the second scoreless as well.

Outhouse finally gave in during the third period as the Rockets scored two goals on eight shots. Lane Zablocki scored the game-winner eight minutes into the period while Nolan Foote got an empty-netter with one minute to go.

The Rockets had a good night for special teams, going 1/3 on the power-play while keeping the Royals off the board on the penalty kill. Roman Basran stopped all 16 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season.

Up next the Rockets get ready for five straight road games, starting with the Kootenay Ice in Cranbrook. That game takes place on Tuesday, puck drop is at 7:00 p.m.
