A 10-day battle is nearing the end as the 2024 Scotties Tournament of Hearts ends tonight in Calgary.

Team Homan will await the results of this afternoon’s all-Manitoba semifinal match between Team Jones and Team Cameron to see who they will face in the championship tonight.

The afternoon’s match follows an epic battle between Rachel Homan and Jennifer Jones as the Ontario squad won in the 11th end to book a trip to the finals last night.

“Unbelievable game, they played unbelievable, had us in a pile of trouble every end, but we stuck with it,” said Homan to Curling Canada staff

After falling behind by a score in the eighth end, Rachel Homan tied the game in the 10th end with a remarkable shot to squeeze the rock onto the button and force an extra frame.

The team made the most of the 11th end and maintained their unbeaten streak with a 6-4 win.

“Unbelievable sweep by my sweepers to get that to the pin to continue the game,” said Homan.

“Just the right side of the inch today.”

The semifinal at 11 am PST will see Jennifer Jones attempt to get back to the finals and win a record-breaking seventh title.

The longtime curler announced before this year’s event that this would be her last Scotties and she will be retiring from four-person curling at the end of the season.

Sunday’s final gets underway at 5 pm PST on TSN.
