McIntosh won four medals in her first Olympics and became the first Canadian to win three gold medals in a single Olympic Games.
The 17-year-old phenom was golden in the 400m IM, 200m butterfly and 200m IM events while snagging a silver medal in the 400m freestyle swim.

BC’s Ethan Katzberg dominated the men’s hammer throw competition as he became the first Canadian to win a medal in the event since 1912.
Katzberg was also the first Canadian to win a gold medal in any throwing event since 1904, with Camryn Rogers winning the gold medal in women’s hammer throw shortly after.
The 22-year-old from Nanaimo completed a throw of 84.12m in his first attempt and that was all he would need as none of his opponents got past the 80-metre mark.
Both athletes had already left Paris, but have since returned after receiving the news that they would be Canada’s flag bearers.
The closing ceremony gets underway at noon PDT, and in a few short weeks, the 2024 Paralympics will begin.
